Starlink service installation in Vietnam
The world is growing with emerging tech like 5G, but still, we have noticed connectivity issues in remote areas like mountains and islands. SpaceX has covered this aspect with the installation of high-speed internet directly from satellites.
Reuters recently reported that SpaceX is working to install Starlink services in Vietnam. This is not just about 5G installation, but they are using protruding satellites to get freedom from the cable network.
In Vietnam, 4G and 5G already exist, but in rural and remote areas, 5G towers are hard to build. In addition, weather conditions also affect the signal quality badly. So in these areas, the utilization of satellites for a strong Network is a commendable step. It will help to provide easy access to education, economy, and technology in underdeveloped regions, especially in forests and islands.
SpaceX is not only working in Vietnam; Wikipedia reports that SpaceX provides services in 130 countries and territories. Starlink is making a real difference in countries where the internet was slow or did not exist.
Starlink uses low-Earth orbit satellites, unlike fiber or mobile towers, which rely on wires to provide internet. Satellites are fast, with 20–40 ms latency. They can even cover the areas that ground networks often skip. This is the reason that farmers in remote areas, researchers, and even sailors in the middle of the oceans are using it.
Starlink service is adopted widely, and it seems that it will dominate the fiber or tower service. As we are stepping into a world full of machines and robots, a more stable internet is in most demand.
There is no doubt that some of the AI models are designed in such a way that they can work without the internet, but still, we depend heavily on the internet for communication, managing imports and exports, and tracking records on ports. While offline AI gives us independence, the internet keeps us connected and alive globally. In a way, Starlink is becoming the invisible thread connecting everyone, everywhere.
SpaceX is expected to launch Starlink satellite internet services in Vietnam from the fourth quarter of this year, state media cited a government official as saying on Tuesday.
