Billboard to release two music charts on Vietnam market
Billboard Vietnam will launch two music charts, Vietnam Hot 100 and Top Vietnamese Songs, on Jan. 14, 2022.
The company stated Billboard Vietnam Hot 100 will include all genres of music around the world and Billboard Vietnam Top Vietnamese Songs the most popular local works.
The results of both music charts are determined based on a scoring formula including the number of streams for songs officially released on music services as well as paid downloads on popular music distribution platforms in Vietnam.
The number of online listeners is calculated for both registered accounts and free users on music services.
All data for Billboard Vietnam’s two music charts are compiled by MRC data – an information collection system that has provided data for the calculation of Billboard’s weekly American charts.
Myke Brown, Billboard Vietnam general director, said: « At Billboard Vietnam, we have faith in the talent of Vietnamese artists. We hope that empowering and creating opportunities for Vietnamese artists to participate and shine on the global stage will allow them to maximize their potential. »
The entertainment website Billboard magazine is perhaps best known for its weekly charts Billboard Hot 100, which is the music industry standard record chart in the U.S. for songs.
