Vietnam records nine more imported Covid-19 cases
Nine Vietnamese citizens returning from Russia, Japan and Qatar have taken Vietnam’s active Covid-19 count to 115, the Ministry of Health confirmed Sunday morning.
« Patient 1257 » is a 27-year-old resident of central Ha Tinh Province. He landed at Van Don Airport from Russia on Vietnam Airlines flight VN5062 on October 31 and was quarantined in Quang Ninh Province upon arrival.
He is being treated at General Hospital of Tropical Diseases 2 in Hanoi after the second test result last Friday showed he contracted the novel coronavirus.
« Patient 1258 » is a 30-year-old man from the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak and « patient 1259 », 32, is a male resident of southern Dong Nai Province.
They arrived at Cam Ranh Airport in Khanh Hoa from Japan on Vietnam Airlines flight VN5062 on October 30 and were sent to quarantine in the central province.
Their second test results last Friday confirmed they were positive for the virus and both are being treated at Khanh Hoa Hospital of Tropical Disease.
Patients 1260-1265 are males and females aged between 20 and 47. One is from Khanh Hoa while the others are from Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces of Binh Thuan, Tien Giang and Ben Tre.
They landed at HCMC’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport from Quatar on Qatar Airways flight QR970 on October 30 and were quarantined in Binh Duong Province.
The six patients are being treated at Binh Duong General Hospital after their second test result last Friday showed they contracted the virus.
The nine new cases raised Vietnam’s Covid-19 tally to 1,256 with 35 deaths. Three patients who died after being declared free of the virus are not included in the list of recoveries or deaths.
The country has not recorded any community transmission cases for 73 days.
Globally, the pandemic has infected more than 50 million and killed more than 1.2 million people.
