Long Thanh airport contractor cannot find Vietnamese employees at $16,300 salary
A Turkish contractor of Long Thanh International Airport has been unable to hire local workers despite offering salaries of up to VND400 million (US$16,300) a month.
IC Ictas Insaat Sanayi Ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi, the main contractor for the terminal construction, recently informed authorities in Dong Nai Province that it has been unable to find Vietnamese personnel for 31 jobs, according to Tuoi Tre newspaper.
The jobs include contractor representative, project director and deputy director and managers.
The company offered salaries of between VND75 million and VND400 million a month for two-year contracts, and required candidates to have at least three years’ experience in a similar job and a bachelor’s degree, and be able to speak English fluently.
Dong Nai authorities have given the greenlight to the company for hiring foreigners for the jobs.
Long Thanh International Airport in the southern province of Dong Nai has an estimated cost of VND336.63 trillion and a designed capacity of 100 million passengers annually.
Its first phase, with a capacity of 25 million passengers, is scheduled to be completed by 2025.
