Vietnam’s Politburo gives update on Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong’s health status
The Politburo has assigned President To Lam to manage the workload of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat while Party Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong focuses on his health treatment.
Per a request by the Professional Council for Health Protection of Central Officials, Trong has been working and receiving health treatments at the same time, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
The Politburo, the Secretariat, key leaders and Permanent Members of the Secretariat have directly instructed specialized units to mobilize leading experts, doctors and health workers, as well as preparing optimal conditions for the treatment of Trong.
As Trong’s health treatment, along with the general operation of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat are prioritized, the Politburo has assigned Lam to manage the workload of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat per the responsibilities and jurisdiction outlined by the Politburo, based on the working regulations of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat of the 13th term (2021-2026), according to VNA.
The Politburo, the Party’s decision-making body, has called for the Party, the army and the people to put absolute trust into the Party’s leadership and the state’s management.
