Vietnamese deputy premier encourages Chinese firm to join Vietnam-China rail projects
Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha received Chen Yun, chairman of China Railway Group Limited (CREC), at the Government Office in Hanoi on Monday, encouraging the Chinese firm to get involved in standard-gauge railway route projects connecting Vietnam and China.
The Vietnamese official urged the Chinese company to actively carry out railway infrastructure projects to enhance connectivity between Vietnam and China, in line with directives from the leaders of both nations to strengthen their comprehensive strategic partnership.
Deputy PM Ha also highly valued the growth of China’s high-speed railway industry, believing that CREC has contributed its part to the success.
“The CREC-invested projects in Vietnam must adhere to the highest Chinese standards and stand as a symbol of the Vietnam-China friendship,” the Vietnamese official stated.
Chen affirmed the company’s desire to participate in key railway infrastructure projects in Vietnam, airing CREC’s commitment to providing consulting services and ensuring top-quality construction and timely completion of these projects.
He also expressed CREC’s willingness to collaborate with Vietnamese partners in research, technology transfer, and personnel training to help advance the high-speed railway industry in Vietnam.
Deputy PM Ha expressed hope that CREC would demonstrate China’s quality and technological expertise in its involvement in railway infrastructure projects in Vietnam, prioritizing environmental sustainability, optimal operational distances, and the safety of both passengers and goods.
He urged that the incorporation of smart technology into rail line operations be a key consideration.
