$20mn Boeing aircraft component factory starts operations in Da Nang
South Korea’s KP Aerospace Vietnam, which specializes in manufacturing aircraft components, spacecraft, and related machinery, opened its US$20-million factory at Da Nang Hi-Tech Park in Da Nang City, central Vietnam on Friday.
The new facility will manufacture, process, and assemble aircraft parts such as auxiliary engine doors, wing boxes, gliders, and left-wing support systems for Boeing 787 and Boeing 737 Max aircraft.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Tran Chi Cuong, vice-chairman of the Da Nang administration, highlighted the factory as a testament to the coastal city’s growth as a hi-tech hub.
The presence of the factory underscored Da Nang’s investor-friendly environment for advanced technology and aviation component manufacturing.
This is the second aerospace project in the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park, following the Sunshine Aerospace Component Mill built by Universal Alloy Corporation Vietnam Co., Ltd.
Cuong said that the KP Vina aircraft component factory is a key pillar of Da Nang’s hi-tech strategy.
He expressed hope that the factory will boost local aviation manufacturing capabilities, create jobs, develop supporting industries, and upskill the workforce.
With strong investment and modern technology, city officials hoped that the factory would operate efficiently and make a significant contribution to the growth of the aviation industry in Da Nang.
According to local authorities, the newly-opened factory is considered as a foundation for building a future aerospace technology cluster within the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park.
