Vietnam’s two largest airports rated low for on-time performance
Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat, Vietnam’s two largest airports, have been rated poorly for on-time performance in this year’s « World’s Best Airports 2025 » ranking.
Released earlier this month by AirHelp, a global leader in flight compensation services, the ranking evaluated passenger experience at 250 airports worldwide based on three criteria: on-time performance, customer opinion, and the quality of food and retail services.
Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport placed 242nd with an overall score of 6.71 out of 10, while Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat Airport ranked 248th with a score of 6.21.
Neither airport appeared in last year’s list, which included only 100 airports.
Noi Bai received scores of 6.4 for on-time performance, 7.2 for customer opinion, and 7.1 for food, beverage, and shopping quality.
Tan Son Nhat received 6.1 for on-time performance, almost the lowest in the ranking.
Despite earning higher customer and food service ratings than the U.S.-based Daniel K. Inouye International Airport at 51st, Noi Bai’s low punctuality score significantly impacted its overall ranking.
On-time performance accounted for 60% of the total score, while customer satisfaction and food and beverage quality made up 20% each.
This year’s top-ranked airport was Cape Town International Airport in South Africa, which achieved an overall score of 8.57.
Doha Hamad Airport in Qatar ranked second.
