$148 mln Can Tho industrial park to begin construction in 2023
The first phase of the Vinh Thanh industrial complex in the Mekong Delta’s Can Tho City would cost VND3.7 trillion ($148.85 million) and begin construction next year, authorities said.
Investment certificates for the project, spanning 900 ha, have been handed to the representatives of investors by the Can Tho People’s Committee on Tuesday. The first phase of the project only entails over 293 ha.
The project, situated near the road leading from Vam Cong Bridge to Kien Giang Province in the west and Ho Chi Minh City in the east, is expected to provide connectivity between Mekong Delta localities.
The first phase of the project is expected to begin construction in 2023, and once completed, is expected to provide jobs for 15,000-20,000 jobs.
The project is designed to utilize modern technologies in all stages of operations.
Tran Viet Truong, chairman of the Can Tho People’s Committee, said the project is planned in accordance with environmentally friendly criteria and would create income for the city.
Can Tho City currently has eight industrial parks, with a total area of over 2,300 ha, attracting 256 projects with a total registered capital at over $1.65 billion.
