I endure hours of karaoke from my apartment neighbors every night

From around 6:30 p.m. until late every night, I am tormented by the noise coming from the apartment opposite mine, where karaoke music blasts at high volume with their door wide open.

I live in an apartment building and lately have had to constantly endure loud karaoke singing from my neighbors across the hall. Despite repeatedly reporting the issue to building management and security, the situation has not improved. The neighbors continue to sing loudly, turn up the volume, and ignore all warnings.

What frustrates me most is not just the singing itself, but the fact that their door remains open, allowing the sound to echo throughout the hallway. As a result, surrounding residents, including myself, suffer from noise pollution night after night. On some days, the singing started around 6:30 p.m. and continues until midnight. The constant music, singing, and microphone testing made it impossible for me to relax after a long day at work.

I had hoped building management would take decisive action, but even after several warnings from security and staff, these noisy residents persist. They have even reacted defiantly, yelling and insulting neighbors who reminded them to keep the noise down. This has left me feeling helpless and deeply frustrated.

According to regulations, making noise above permitted levels between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. can result in administrative fines. However, these penalties have not effectively deterred the behavior. I believe fines for noise pollution in residential areas, especially in densely populated apartment complexes, should be increased, as shared living spaces require mutual respect.

In a shared community, it is crucial that everyone respects common spaces and honors each other’s need for peace and quiet.
