Can Long Thanh Airport fly without faster links to Ho Chi Minh City ?

With Long Thanh International Airport expected to open by early next year, or even as soon as December, readers are voicing a key concern: how travelers will get there quickly from Ho Chi Minh City.

« There needs to be a dedicated express highway with only exits between HCMC and the airport. That means no shophouses, no connections from other highways, no other entrances between the end points and no trucks or motorbikes. 40km needs to be a 25 minute ride like it is in other countries. »

« The problem No.1 with all the international flights arriving at the new airport, is the connecting domestic flights many passengers need to take, in order to reach various other parts of Vietnam, their final destination (Da Lat, in my case) we will just arrive from a 12 hours international flight, and we will need a long – and maybe complex- transfer to Tan Son Nhat to get our next, domestic, flight. At present, the domestic terminal is just a few hundred meters away from the international terminal, and this is just great, very convenient. It won’t be the same in the future. »
